Deciduous tree, 20-30 ft, oval rounded crown, contorted stems, "corkscrew" effect tremendously evident after leaf fall.
The plant is known by many names, from corkscrew willow to Willow Salix matsudana ‘Tortuosa’, Corkscrew Willow, Dragon's Claw Willow, Contorted Willow, but its exclusive branching formation remains the same. Grown for its beautifully curled branches that add loads of visual interest in the landscape and in flower arrangements.
A rapid grower that will add 3-5 feet per year as it matures, this willow tree can be pruned at will. This tree is trouble-free and convenient to grow, requiring highly little time or attention to produce impressive results.
They favor full sun or really light shade.
