Description:
It consists of three rods and a number of disks of various diameters that can slide onto any rod. The puzzle starts with the disks neatly stacked in place an order for of size on one peg, smallest at the top, thus making a conical shape.
Objective:
The aim is to move complete the disks from the starting rod to a target rod, following specific rules: only one disk can be moved at a time, only the top disk of a stack can be moved, and a larger disk cannot be placed on top of a smaller disk.
Educational Benefits:
This puzzle is used in various contexts, from teaching children about size and problem-solving to assessing cognitive functions fancy planning and working memory in adults.
Historical Origin:
The puzzle was invented by French mathematician Édouard Lucas in 1883.
