The instrument is an unknown age, but distinctly marked that is was made in France, and it does have a serial number stamped on the back side. It has been lovingly cared for since I acquired this instrument several years ago, but it led a pretty interesting life before then, so cosmetically, it looks rough in places. It has been professionally overhauled in the last few years, and just this summer had an extensive COA service (clean, oil, adjust). It has been played in several groups, and even for a short solo with piano, so the tuning is definitely workable.
